Of course I designed my own wedding invitation and Thank-you cards. And Made the DVD. And made the wedding cake. After all, they were most likely "once and only" thing I'd do.
Wedding Invitation was a quick job. I did it in one night: took some stock pattern image and used as cover background and put together a quick layout. The card was then inserted into a craft paper folder to make the invitation look more formal.
I used the same design for the menu on my reception as well, simple replaced the text.
The Thank You card, on the other hand, was in square shape. The reason was, I also created DVDs of my wedding to send along with the Thank-You's. The size of the card just about same as the DVD. Front was our photo and the back was left blank to print customized content in a handwriting font.
Compare to the 3 graphic design jobs, DVD and the wedding cake were much more time consuming. I made the cake from scratch: cake itself, fondant, and the decoration. It was a four-layer cake: 2 layers were vanilla with strawberry filling, one carrot cake with cream cheese filling, and one was chocolate cake with whipped cream. I worked on it until 3am the night before the reception. THEN, on our way to Misty's the second morning, the second to bottom layer (chocolate) sank! So, I had to re-arrange the whole cake again and hoped it'd stay through the day. Thankfully, it did. :)
